Book Review: About the Night by Anat Talshir

About the Night_cvr

I’m a KindleFirst member and chose this book as my pick May pick.  I wanted to infuse my writing Muse with a literary lilt and figured this would be just the ticket.  Not only was this one of the best, most moving reads I’ve had in a long time, it did bring tears to my eyes.

This is a love story.  A love that stretched and bent around not just one war but several.  It is a love story between a Jew and an Arab — fighting words in years past.

This revealing book lays bare all of the emotion, anguish, fear of loss and rejection that this couple faced and went through before their love came out semi-intact on the other side.  This is no spoiler as you need to read the painful journey of how each of them came to the decisions they made and how they each sacrificed what was in their hearts due to the turmoil surrounding them.

If you are ready for a read that will turn you inside out, this is the one to read next.
